4BB2213C-129D-4B9F-A33A-CAD1C4EC5297.jpeg My son killed this buck this past weekend with a crossbow. We had played cat and mouse with this buck all season. He passed another nice buck four times this season, twice with a crossbow and twice with a gun, to try and kill this one (I have trail pics of the other buck and I can’t get them to load on here) keeps saying file to big. Help??? I’ll add pics of it if I can figure out how... Both are mature but the one he killed has larger frame and taller. He is 17 and he learned a lot from this season about preparation and patience. He began to question whether he should have shot the one he had passed on but in the end it payed off. Very proud.

Congrats to you both on a nice buck. I'll be honest though, I can't tell much difference in those deer from the pictures, the bottom is a shooter also. In your story he learns either way, either the way it worked out or if he had passed the bottom one and never seen the top one the rest of the season. Love it.

Awesome job on a great deer. You will have a shooter for next season if he makes it until then.

Exactly. It didn’t matter to me which one he killed. But I will have to say I’m glad he waited on the 9 because it allowed me to spend more time in a buddy stand and blind with him this season. When they are that age every minute you get to spend with them, just the 2 of us, is priceless.
