I shot both mine today haven't picked yet. Both 700 bdl one with a leupold vari x 2 other with a 3. Both with 168 amax ammo one in 308 other in 30-06. 06 shot .75 308 about a inch
Been rocking the rem 700 in 7mm express since 1981! I've killed 1 with a 30-30 and one with a 06 maybe half a dozen with 243. The old 7mm exp aka 280 is a killing machine out to 500 yrds.
I’ll be taking the only rifle I’ve ever deer hunted with!! My Remington 742 Woodsmaster 30-06. Topped with a redfield scope, shooting Hornady ammo. This is the first gun I ever bought 24yrs ago when I was 15yrs old. I was working stripping tobacco. Guy brought it in one day looking to sell it. I didn’t have the $250 he wanted for it, but the farmer bought it for me and let me work off my debt. I’ve harvested 30+ plus deer with this gun, including 15 bucks that I have had mounted. This gun is like a good luck charm, I wouldn’t think of taking any of my other rifles. Especially on opening day. All my quota hunting buddies crack jokes about it when I pull it out on the hunts. They’ve given it the the nickname “The Chuckster”. I’m guessing because I’m always chucking lead at deer?? I just sit back and say my trophy room has more deer in it than theirs....
300 magnum in a Remington Sendero 6.5-20X50mm VX3 Leupold with 180 grain soft points for when they don't come in close enough with my .300 blackout Smith and Wesson AR-15 with a 4-12X42mm VX3 Leupold . Also gonna take a Kel-tec Sub 2000 in .40 cal if I woods hunt any. Its a sweet little gun, but desperately needs an optic, which is on the way.....
That's how I got my start. The only thing missing on yours is the over and under mounts. We like to never figured out how to keep them clips from jamming.
Not sure I’ll even go given our EHD situation here in the east, but if I do I’ll be using my TC Encore in .300 Win Mag with 180 grain Hornady SST. This combo has worked well for me in the past as you can see.
