Last trips to LBL all the talk is feral hogs. One campground attendee said they trapped and killed250 ! Wow! All my years hunting there ihave covered a lot of ground, never once seen a hog. I understand they are in southern part like area 10. Anyone actually seen one or sign down there?

I’d do a hog hunt in spring if they have enough population in a small area.

Buddy saw 1 and TONS of sign in area 8 back in August/September. We were squirrel hunting. Wasn't too far from the Wrangler Campground.

Ok as of now regulations prohibit hunting of feral hogs per a publication I just read. But it was dated 2018. Ky law don’t apply? I bet that will change soon as they do more and more damage.

Not sure who’s in charge of lbl understands how bad these hogs are and how fast they reproduce. They should allow killing of this nuisance animal any way possible!

KDFWR believes its better to trap hogs than shoot them. Shooting at them educates them. When trapping them they catch 15 or more in one trap.

Buddy of mine and myself and son have a Texas hunt planned at Moore Plantation WMA and Bannister WMA. Sometime in March-April. Gonna do self guided deal. Don’t know what to expect. Never been to Texas. I have spoke to WMA manager and the local Game Warden and both stated we should have decent chances since they are over ran with hogs right now. Prolly spend 3-5 days.

I have made a post on Texas Hunting Forum and they have a section for feral hog and javelina. I’m sure I’ll get some good advice. The trip alone will be good. A couple hogs will be icing. Supposedly a good area is the feedback I’m getting. But spring is a long way away with Biden going in and all this Covid. Hopefully Trump will be back in and this vaccine will work and I’ll be able to. Lot of uncertainties

Like he says. They claim hunting them does not work for eradication. Im betting a bounty on them would wipe them out. Market hunting has managed to drive many species to extinction.

Don't know how true it is, older guy told me one time, that they could raise up to 4 times a year.
