Lake Barkley Quota Hunt

mainly doe but I guess you could get lucky and find a bruiser cruising thru

 

check up in behind the range. Ridge up behind there close to private

 

We have been there 2 times and tagged out both times on does and took one small 8. The buck to doe ratio is way off. It is loaded with does there are a few nice bucks running around but not many. Knight and hale has private property that joins and runs down into it and they have plots planted in there. We took a couple does on the ridge adjoining there property and another hunter took a nice 9 pointer on the other side of there property closer to the road. Both years there was decent bucks took in the holler behind the gun range. We took a small 8 and a couple does just below the airport. If you going to meat hunt you will have a good trip but if you are going in hopes of a monster buck you will prolly be disappointed.

 

There are plenty of deer I don't know the numbers from last year but the first time we went there was 43 hunters showed up and 46 deer were took.

 

Yeah that's why we put in for it to stretch the season lol best of luck to you!
