Any advice on the various pheasant draw hunts? Any past experiences?
Whatever time you think you need to get there to claim a field, get there 2 hours before that. You will find birds assuming you know a little and have a dog. You will also run into a ton of other hunters. It can get a little frustrating with the number of people, but it's a good way to get some dog work in or get a youngster into bird hunting as there will be some action.
Brit's and Birds covered it.
Just know it can be aggravating. might listen to that "this land is your land, this land is mine" song before you go.
I enjoy it though. Its fun to watch the people with no dogs or better yet those who brought their family dogs. Saw a would have been nice setter leave the country because it got its first wiff of what was bred to for.
I put in every year but I have way to much dog for that game. I just like walking with family and BSin.
Friday 11/19/21: Had a great hunt at Green River. The Hitchners (David, Tina, and Josh) and their dog Sonny(he was the STAR). Looking forward to next year.
