Is there any campgrounds close to/around the convention center? We are coming down friday and just looking to make a weekend out of it. Thank you in advance.

State park is Ok not a lot to do there by the campground, the beach area is another area of the park and a bit of a walk. It is clean and well kept up is a plus.

There is one Dogwood with a nice swimming lake just outside of Dunmor. I haven't been in there in a few years but seen a sign they are open for camping. http://www.kentuckytourism.com/Listing/2856/ Not sure of the number tho it change hands not long ago. If you exit the parkway at Central city and head south on hwy 431 to Dunmor it's on the same road as the state park is hwy 973. 973 dead ends to the west, a right turn on hwy 181 will take you into Greenville near the fairgrounds where the classic is held about 15 miles.
