There was 2 or 3 phase of ol'yeller got mine early 2000's it is plastic pot
I think the updated version was called yelowhammer
Is it got that yeller slate there's something about it that's just got a real turkey sounds
I have and still use a Knight and Hale pot slate I bought in 1980. Be using it this year.
They do sound good. My old yellar has a hole in it where a guy sit on part of my vest in my back seat and my striker punched the hole. It still sounds good and has called in many turkeys.
There are 2 calls that I don't leave home without and unfortunately both are out of production. An original Ole Yeller
and an HS Strut Grand National double slate over glass. To my ears and not just a few turkeys, they sound as good as anything out there.
Got a sweet owl
Hooter from the boys years ago.
I think I got one of those too Jay but never use it. A little brown can made of plastic? Can't remember.
Knight and Hale we're the real deal!
No...but had one of those too when I was kid. Mines more of a tube call. I’ll have to look. I have it all taped up. So when I was runnin the call people didn’t know what I was using lol. That made me laugh how serious I took this turkey thing going through my teenager years. Lol.
Most likely a KH model 118 reed style owl hooter. The guts out of those are sought after for owl hooting contestants 'til this day! I've got a few. Got ol'yeller in a black pot, a green pot, and an orange pot. Got the yellow hammer too. Got a fairly large assortment of KH calls. My favorite is their "original " tube call. I was on their Prostaff for several years. Made it a point to have my picture taken with them at the NWTF Convention this year immediately following their induction to the HOF.
I had one of those. Great sounding call until I lost it. Called in a lot of barred owls with it. I have a flex tone now. It sounds really good too.
I still carry an ol’Yeller. I bought it in the late 90s. It ceramic and plastic.

I owl hoot with my mouth or use a Dog whistle
