Still talking about 2012? Based on what record and being ND? So I looked up a few facts to refresh my memory. They beat 1 top 10 team, Oklahoma, who only got to #8. After the Bama game the best ND finished in the polls was #4 in the coaches poll. Definitely a year a playoff (or something) might have helped. No other SEC team was considered because of two + losses (plus they wouldn’t match them in bowl games then) but GA, FLA, SC, AM, LSU were all pretty good but had at least two losses. At the end of the regular season ND was 1 in a few polls so I guess they belonged there? AM actually beat Bama during the season. But you may be right. Maybe no one but Bama belonged? However the final coaches poll that year had 5 SEC teams in top 10. NDs only big win, Oklahoma, finished 15th. How was that a better system than now or what we could have? Because besides the 1 loss, ND didn’t really “earn” it during the regular season based on opponents and strength of schedule. They just had a good record and like Alabama, Michigan, OSU, etc…they got a football name. I don’t know that I like the 12 Team playoff either but there probably isn’t a perfect system. But bowl selection was far from perfect.
Bowl selection was asinine. Every other sport, including any other level of football, has a playoff system. Who gives a crap about a bowl that means absolutely nothing.

The bowl system was the biggest exercise in the "everyone gets a trophy" mindset.

I don't know how D1 football started down that path in the first place.

Same problem I have with Men's college basketball. Every other level plays 4 quarters except men's basketball. Even the college women play 4 quarters. Who's bright idea was that?

I think Bama is probably better than TCU but that poll says "deserves". A two loss Bama didn't deserve to be in.

Also, I think it's unfair Georgia has to play a better team than Michigan has to but I'm not surprised and would have done the same. You don't want two conference rivals playing first game. Same with Georgia and Bama last year.

I'd LOVE to see TCU whoop Michigan's ass.

I’d guess that to be highly unlikely considering the 2 qbs we still have beat him out last year so highly doubt he will come back. I’d say good chances he goes to western.
He had a phenomenal season, got experience, while they sat the bench.

You could be right but I’d say they are probably looking for a higher caliber qb than him and with a really good bunch of young receivers should be a lot of interest from good qbs.
They’ve had 4 receivers enter the portal. UK is not a passing offense. They won’t get a high caliber QB after the way they squandered Levis’ talents.

I sure hope you’re wrong. I’m hoping a new OC will change that. But they lost very few minutes from the guys transferring and that’s why they did cause they were deep on the depth chart.

They didn't lose any receivers that mattered. If I was a good QB I'd be more interested in what they do for offensive linemen. Ours sucked balls this year.
If I was a good QB, I'd be looking for a team that used the QB as something other than a tool to hand off to running backs.
