Hey I just moved to lexington, ky from western, ky and I have no clue where to hunt. Back in western, ky i have places but i cant afford to drive 5 hours every weekend. Can anyone help?

First off, welcome. The only thing anyone can really tell you is one of two things. The first is start knocking on doors. The second is to go to a WMA. Good luck!!!

i can add one more to the above. Buy a cheap car thats good on gas and be prepared to drive 5 hours every friday.
Yeah, you probably moved to a hunting area that you aren't going to like too much. The 5 hrs. tells me that you were probably in a zone 1 which actually HAD zone 1 amounts of deer in it. Hope you get lucky in finding some private land this late in the game. And then, there are the WMA's of course. Share and share alike.

Don't let these guys get you down. I lived in Eastern KY before moving to Madisonville and I still make the 4-5 hour drive east to hunt most weekends. While the trophy potential isn't as good, there are plenty of good places on that end of the state to hunt. If you're bow hunting, Daniel Boone has plenty of deer. I wouldn't set foot on it during gun season due to the influx of Buckeyes, but I'd say the same thing about any WMA.
Take a weekend and drive up to Fleming, Rowan, Carter, Elliot counties and knock on a few doors. You may be suprised. I can tell you from personal experience that you're much more likely to get permission to hunt private ground on that end of the state than you are on this end.

Yea i wasnt trying to be a jerk in my last post. It would have been hard to find land to hunt 3 months ago, now, probably impossible. good luck

What ever u do if you get a place to hunt. Dont complain if there cows it your corn. Read the thread "COWS".
