I just had someone give me a free 14' v hull John boat and was wondering if they are good for duck hunting. I know they aren't as stable as flat but is it that big of a deal? I would be going on smaller lakes and rivers mostly so it shouldn't be to ruff. Never had the chance to duck hunt so not sure if I should use it for that.

Itll be fine, just wont go quite as shallow. I would suggest taking it out a couple times before season while water temps are warm to get a good feel for it.

I actually prefer the v-hull. That was a nice gift.

I've done a lot of hunting out of a 16 ft V=hull. I ran a 9.9 motor on it and went all over with it. I bought a larger boat and stuck a mud motor on the vhull and still use it in the shallow stuff.
