One of the first to Form Alabama. Good group and music.
Cook toured in 2022 with Alabama for their 50th Anniversary tour.[6] On April 11, 2017, Cook disclosed that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease four years earlier. He stopped touring regularly with Alabama in 2018.[7] Cook died from complications of the disease in Destin, Florida, on November 7, 2022, at the age of 73.[

They were a special band I thought, no one sounds like them and he had a lot to do with that. His guitar tone was unique.

Heard Bama in 2018 in Evansville. He wasn’t with them but they mentioned him a bunch. RIP…many refer to them as the greatest country group of all time.

I had these two biracial kids in class who were brothers and they sang Song of the South all the time. I always thought that was funny. “Cotton on the roadside, cotton in the ditch, we all picked the cotton but we never got rich”. Hard to beat those lyrics!

My wife and I (she's a huge fan) were vacationing somewhere and she wanted to go to their museum. We spent the night close by and were there at opening. We were talking to the desk worker (there were only 3 cars counting ours in the parking lot) when Jeff came out and asked where we were from. He took us on a tour of the museum and talked with us over an hour.

After he went back to the office I asked about the 3 cars. His was the junker and added if you didn't recognize him you wouldn't know who he was by his dress, actions, or his stuff. He was great to us and I will always appreciate the time he took to make the day special for my wife.
