We I started out with a couple of crappie fishing trips last year before turkey season. Kentucky Lake and a couple of watersheds.

Then on to my turkey tags. It gets harder every year crappie are starting to bite before turkey season to go hunting. I'm always thinking about going to the lake and when I go fishing birds gobble everywhere and I wish I was hunting. Danged if you do, danged if you don't.

Deer season was not to good again. I hope the 3 acre plot and some stand relocation helps next year. I shot every deer I had in range that gave an opportunity. I killed 3 does 2 with a bow, and 1 with a rifle. First time since 2007 I have shot a deer with a rifle.

No picture of rifle doe, I forgot my camera and phone was dead.

And a couple days after Christmas my best day ever crappie fishing. We had 56 keepers and lost 6. 50 of them where between 12 1/2" - 13 1/2", 1 was 15" and weighted 2.01lbs. 4 were between 11" and 12 1/2". And the dink of the day was a little over 11" long. We never threw a fish back and they all came from 1 spot.

Hey That was a good year! I look back and think how good I had it, I had a back injury Jan 9th last year, had surgery to help but not much, I can still get out, but limited to what I can do. It could be worse and I think the lord for limiting it to what it was, but I will stop my rambling, the point I'm trying to make, and I'm sure it isn't needed, spend every possible minute it his grand kingdom and all you can with the boy out there, you never know when it will end, then wishing you did more is to late. I know one thing there is no better sandwich the black crappie in Weisenberger fish mill. YUM YUM
