May as well, it will soon anyway...
If you want to hunt with a vertical bow do that...
If you want to hunt with a flintlock, do that...
If you want to hunt with a xbow, do that...
If you want to hunt with a shotgun, yep....Do that...
Life is happier when you dont worry about what everyone else is doing... Thats just my onion...

Ill throw you a real controversial comment in.....I think they should legalize BUCKSHOT
Its legal in a ton of states and I know the first thing people are gonna say "Too many wounded deer, because people spray and pray"
Ill admit that can be an issue from less than ethical hunters.. But so can bows and any shotgun hunter who hunts anything from squirrel too goose..
How many waterfowl are hit and not recovered, squirrel? They are just as relavent as a deer..
Buckshot, when you take the time to pattern it, especially with a good choke will kill deer DRT out to 60 yards easy..
Ill admit, you need to shoot it and pattern it but no one around here realizes just how effective it is because they never used it. Its just as effective as anything else when used correctly.. Just like anything else should be

You can't get there from here.
I just don’t understand the argument. Watch a trad bow shooter and compound shooter. Only difference is the speed. It’s the same muscles used. Holding it in front of you, one arm pulling back.
Now watch a xbow shooter, it’s much closer to a gun. The only similar thing is it’s shooting a smaller arrow. That’s it, nothing else about it mimics a trad bow.
No sights, no let-off, no release.
A crossbow is just a mini compound with a catch to hold the string at full draw. You can hold it sideways if you like.

If that helps you sleep at night, keep telling yourself that lol.

Agree to disagree my man.
I've never been one to consider a crossbow and a compound bow the same. But saying a recurve and a compound are closer is absurd.
The main reason P&Y drew the line is the unassisted full draw. Nothing else.
Also they limited the let-off percentage for a reason.

I don't have a problem with them opening it to all archery but the arguments about each one are hilarious.

I have a bad shoulder, carpal tunnel, am a transplant patient, 4th stage cancer, wear out quick, and old! Lol.
I choose to hunt with traditional archery only no matter the season. But I am not asking for any special season or treatment, if it happens I won’t complain, if it doesn’t I won’t complain. There is a Xbow hanging in my garage that I bought for my grandson, he quit hunting to chase other things, and I haven’t touched it.
My point is that it is “my choice”, no one restricts me to hunt this way, just dumb ole me. And if you choose to hunt differently; I will respect your choice. and I really don’t care how the smart folks that study this stuff set the seasons. I will just abide by the rules as they make them.
If you want to disagree or argue with me I will bow out and you win, just no need to argue, I’m probably wrong anyway!

Quick story.
Hunting public in Indiana last year. Walk about 2 miles out of my way to enter through the back door, get in and set an hour before daylight.
Right a daybreak dude walks in the field where I was expecting the deer to come from. (Now my back door entry is pointless) I shine my light for 10 min to let him know I’m already in there. He hangs his stand 60ish yards from me, knowing full well I’m there.
Hour later a 110 8 is walking right to me. I’m gonna shoot him in about 10 more feet. Whack! From 65-70 yards away. Other guy nails him with a Xbow. Guy is in his 30s prolly.
Never imagined he would be in range for him but…. He didn’t even know he hit the buck. I pointed him to where he way laying.
That’ll leave a bad taste in your mouth.

That’s where I’m coming from y’all.

So you had a bad experience therefore crossbow season should not be extended?
If the guy had shot it with a bow it would have been different? I know quite a few people who are deadly at 70 yards with their bow.

Just being straight up, yeah I woulda felt a little better about it. It was shitty for him to do that and set up there. But not too many people shooting whitetail at 70, if they are, they are a damn good archer.
60 is a poke with a compound, don’t care how good you are.

60 with a xbow seems pretty normal. I don’t know that, never shot one.
I do know 2 people that shoot them due to shoulder issues. Each one, first thing out there mouth when talking about them. “Man I can shoot this thing 100 yards”
