Alot would just buy tags, call in kills and kill nothing for extra buck tag, would bring in more money tho
Your right on both countsHe is an A$$. No need for an apology to me.
I was thinking must kill 4.Must kill 2 does before taking a second buck. They'd get some does killed.
No harm,no foul. Good luck to you.I want to end my argument all together and say that i wish the best for everyone with whatever method they choose i really don’t mind it doesn’t mean that much in the grand design. @predator1, @PUBLIC RAT ,@120+ and all the others honestly guys i hope for the best with your hunts and hope to see some success pics floating around on here. I respect everyone’s pov and i really do have a better understanding of how passionate some folks are for the use of crossbows. Best of luck to everyone.
You too manNo harm,no foul. Good luck to you.
Probably true. Maybe it is time for KDFWR to update the check in process to include pics of hunter and kill, with written doc displayed on date/time kill. That would eliminate all of the hanky panky.Alot would just buy tags, call in kills and kill nothing for extra buck tag, would bring in more money tho
Zone 1 for sure dude.I was thinking must kill 4.
I really wish they'd do something like this........... Within 72 hours of telecheck of kill, you have to upload a pic of you, the kill, and the date/county written on a piece of paper. That would squash a lot of BS.Probably true. Maybe it is time for KDFWR to update the check in process to include pics of hunter and kill, with written doc displayed on date/time kill. One bad ehd outbreak coupled with several seasons of high success rates. You have the perfect scenario, to forever change the hunting forecast in areas of this state. States like Ohio and many others have a shorter firearm season than Kentucky.I understand your concerns. They just aren’t reasonable. We will never hit 100% success rate. If that was even possible, it still wouldn’t happen. There are plenty of hunters such as myself that gladly eat tag soup because we won’t settle for any and every deer. Then factor in the bow hunters, crossbow hunters, and firearm hunters that can’t hit the broadside of a barn with a shovel full of rice, the herds are safe from decimation. At the rate we’re losing hunters because of land access, and expense. Deer numbers will be just fine.
The accuracy comment wasn’t about the equipment, it was about the users. The shorter firearms season hasn’t helped them produce more B&C caliber bucks statistically speaking. We still produce just as many or more than Ohio. Hasn’t hurt the herd numbers or big bucks yet. As for EHD. Nature will do its thing with no regard to what we think. Can’t make plans on worst case scenarios, only what’s actually happening. One bad ehd outbreak coupled with several seasons of high success rates. They also have there gun seasons post rut. When mature bucks aren’t as exposed in the daylight. As well as only allowing use of slug guns and straight wall cartridges.
As for hunters that can’t hit the side of a barn. Any one can be accurate with a scoped weapon on a solid rest.
34 and I’ve got an old bear whitetail 2 and a clearwater compound that I’m going to bolt some 55# recurve limbs too. For target shooting I don’t 3d shoot and all that but i love to tinker so i figured id see how it turns out@Derek Trent, nah. It’s on old Jennings I used to hunt with. Not sure how old you are, but possibly before your time.
ETA: You don’t owe me or anyone else here an apology. We all vent our opinions on here. Some are more strongly held than others. But that’s where good ideas from. Civil discourse.
