What would couse intestine swelling and a pail color tongue?
Did you eat venison that had been hanging in the heat for to long?
Internal bleeding. Shock. Colic.
Thats basic stuff there.
I have shot many of deer but it just looks a lot different. Absolutely no wrinkles in the large or small intestine. The tongue is almost a pail white color.
SHOCK and BLOOD LOSS.
How long did she lay? And what kind of shot was it?
It laid there about 30 -45 minutes and it was a double lung shot. Dropped in its track.
Sounds normal to me. But you can call kfwd and ask if you worry about the meat.
If people or animals have massive internal trauma all the blood goes to the organs to try and repair it. I dont know if deer colic.. but anyway everything will get shut off but around the organs. Im talking like if someone cut your arm you wouldnt even bleed.
If the death took a certain amount of time the circulatory system would have time to push all the blood inward. If your heart and major arteries were intact the deer would have suffocated to death with the heart freaking out and going into arrest. The bullet if it knocked her down on the spot may have hit or disrupted spinal terriroty to paralyze. Usually just lung trauma they still run a little... sometimes fragmented bone can fly up and disrupt the spine i think.. mayyybe.
The intestines rely on circulation and bodily functions to operate. Once you die the microflora stops working normally (if i remember right) and the gasses build up and bloat you.
My best guesses anyway.
