Not sure what your budget is but take a look at the Excalibur crossbows being sold on Amazon (less than $500)...

Excalibur bows are extremely lightweight and easy to handle...accuracy is ridiculous (do not shoot for groups unless your arrow budget is very large)...These bows are pretty much bullet proof...string changes take about 5 minutes with the stringer device (sold separately $35)...do not over-estimate your own strength though, these bows can be difficult to draw/cock even with the cable device...

Also, do NOT over rate speed...after 300 ft/s problems of stability can occur with broadheads...it is also unusual for me to NOT get a complete pass through with mine...

My Excalibur Ibex (305 ft/s) has put down more deer in the past 10 years than all of my rifles, muzzleloaders, and shotguns combined...

I’m gonna pick up one of these cheaper crossbows and I been looking at the killer instinct 405,415 and the center points 385 and some others from center point any of you fellas or ladies shoot any of these or the brand. I hear negatives on the Barnett and killer instinct I got my daughter a Barnett lady Hunter gonna say 7 yrs ago give or take and it’s been a good one but figured I’d ask here Thanks in advance
I have a Barnett raptor pro str and a carbon express covert , they both have been flawless for the past 4 years and have killed many, many deer . I would highly recommend either one

I replaced my Barnett Jackal with a Sniper 370 after the Jackal was stolen, and I liked it a lot better. No problems with limbs, perfectly accurate out to 50 yards, and I don't mind the weight at all. I haven't had the limb problems some people have had.

I have had sporadic problems with cocking it, and they now seem to be constant. It has to be on 'fire' to cock it, ie off safe. But you can't take it off safe without an arrow in it, so you have to do some appallachineering to get it done.

Also, the trigger is downright squishy. It creeps for a good bit before the break. I don't mind that myself, but I think a lot of people do.

I've gotten pass-throughs on every deer I've ever shot with this thing, including a front to back.

I bought a barnett quad four ,a few years back ,I put the crank in the stock ,used it for three years or so ,it was accurate as far as I wanted to shoot. As with most crossbows ,it was pretty bulky packing but it worked ,didn’t have to take a loan out to buy it.
