What county? My cousin is a CO and he just loves looking into these types of complaints. I know it really depends on the officer, but I can't tell you the number of road hunters he's busted over the years. He's sneaky. Just sits his blacked-out truck up in the woods and waits for the shots and then hits the blue lights & it's on!

hey guys thanks for the help, it is zone 3, if anyone wants to know the county pm me, im afraid to say the county because you never know who is watching, i called again last night and they said they would try and send someone out, but this morning i drove around, its bad that i have to drive around honking the horn at deer to get them to run away from the road to keep them from getting shot, today is the last day of our gun season, i met a couple of them driving around so i guess there really burning the miles trying to get one.

I say double the price for non-residents and take that money and put a few more CO's out there. my county finally got a game warden that patrols and guess what now you can drive around of an evening and see a few deer in the fields. there was one field as a kid you could bank on seeing deer every evening in it. some poachers moved in up the road about 15 years ago and until this year i handt seen a deer in a couple fields on that road. some i have to give 2 thumbs up to the game warden in our area cause his presence in our community has made a difference!

We have until Sundown Monday (November 18th) to hunt with modern rifle. Rifle season ends then.

I fear that poaching is way-up this year due to the economy. Also I feel many Hunters aren't tel-checking their Deer Harvest, as they should be. Those game violators & poachers should have their hunting privileges taken away, and have their Drivers license stamped: NO Hunting Privilege.

I don't believe that at all.Poarchers are just that poachers. They get off on killing Deer and taking the chance plus getting Deer they don't want you to take.If it was about food why cut heads or racks off and leave the meat? A man after meat will take the meat and don't care about a rack they will take a Doe to eat if they have the opportunity.
Poachers are Leaches that just want to kill Deer plain and simple.
One was caught last week here in my county that had 22 Buck Racks hanging in garage and 3 Turkeys.
He admitted to killing them for the HIGH OF IT and most spot lighted before he went to work and HE WASNT HUNGRY he is a Chef and makes good money at a high end restaurant.Just a POACHER.

i know several cos in my area. and frankly a few if them could give a shit less deep down inside what people shoot it is just a job to them and you cant fix stupid and they rarely catch a rd hunter if they try it is bull crap but i dont know what to do about it. they do it on my places to. and there not meat hunting cause you cant eat the damn jaw bone and antlers they cut off and leavr the rest laying in field to rott. im all avout feeding someone laws or no laws. just how i am but when it comes to idiots shooting deer at nite with a ligbt i get a lil peed off when i get up and set in a deer stand 50days a yr trying to kill a deer right. you want it stopped in my opinon go out wait like oh dude said and when they pull through the field empty the damn gun in that trucl from the windows down. they wont comw back after that i bet. must of the ones in my neck of the woods are kids. and there parenrs dont stop it. an trust me they know. you let me catch one of my kids shooting a deer at night and see what happens they wont be able to set for a week.

Put out a game camera where they turn around, get pic and post all over Facebook, here, and print off copies and make fliers of them. Public embarrassment is pretty harsh these days, hell put one in everybody's mailbox.

I believe the biggest poaching problem BY FAR is not the guys with spotlight and road hunters. Its the guys that have tags and shoot more bucks than they are legally allowed and never check them in or the guys that tags them under the wife, grandma, the kids, and so on. Its such a vast and wide spread issue. There is your real poacher problem.

I think that there are a lot more dynamics at work in situations like this than a warden simply not wanting to come out. Things like over time issues, staffing patterns, prioritization of offenses, man power, other calls in progress, personal issues, personnel issues, etc. I'm certainly not naive enough to think that there are some who just don't care. You have good and bad in all professions. I think the 80/20 rules applies in all cases and professions. But I also believe that most officers want to do a good job and actually do do a good job. I also believe that it is an often thankless profession. Remember that everyone has a boss and that I'm sure that there is someone within the KDFWR heiarchy that will listen and give your issue the attention it deserves.
