Just watched a kid kill a deer with a crossbow on TV. He missed and someone recocked his bow. It was obvious it wasn't the kid. I'm ok with that but I never had anyone put another arrow, bolt or shell in anything I used.

If you're "ok with that" then what's the point of your post?Just watched a kid kill a deer with a crossbow on TV. He missed and someone recocked his bow. It was obvious it wasn't the kid. I'm ok with that but I never had anyone put another arrow, bolt or shell in anything I used.
Now I'm confused, are you upset because some kid gets help, and you didn't?Just watched a kid kill a deer with a crossbow on TV. He missed and someone recocked his bow. It was obvious it wasn't the kid. I'm ok with that but I never had anyone put another arrow, bolt or shell in anything I used.
What state and how old was the kid? By law in Pennsylvania any hunter Under the age of 12 is not allowed to load or handle the weapon until it’s time to shoot whether that be gun or Crossbow. So if a 10 yr old shot and missed a deer and didn’t hand it back to the adult to reload they would be breaking the law. Not saying that’s the case on this show but something to consider. If I’m in the tree stand with my nephew he can’t touch the weapon until a deer is in range then I’d hand him the crossbow that I loaded and he could shoot but has to give me the crossbow back. He’s not even allowed to walk into the stand and carry the crossbow or gun not loaded, I have to.Just watched a kid kill a deer with a crossbow on TV. He missed and someone recocked his bow. Just be glad there are still hunting shows on TV. When they quit showing them for whatever reason we will all have to worry about our hunting rights. Just saying.
Yep and if a hunting show inspires just one kid to get off the couch or off their phone and hit the woods then they are a good thing. You are spot on! I don’t like all the modern day hunting hoopla myself but when it’s banned from TV, we’d better get ready, dark times ahead for the rest of us hunters. Plus, as I’ve said on here many times, hunting shows are still better than 90% of the other BS out there.
