This is a old time sidewalk /driveway heavy ice remover. It dam sure works.
Mix 6 drops of Dawn dish washing liquid and two tablespoons of rubbing
alcohol in a gallon bucket of hot water.Pour on walk or driveway, wait one
hour for it to work. It will not freeze back, unless its below 15 degrees.
I have done my sidewalk which had over a half of a inch solid ice. I scraped
it off with ease down to the concrete. Try it,it works and is safe to use.
If you have a pump up sprayer, use it. Mix rate per gallon of water.
    Give it time to work.....

Out of the faucet hot,not boiling hot. You need just to splash it in lines across your walk or drive.
It take about a hour to get the ice to breakup. The longer you wait the better it works.

I tried it on my deck this morning. Wife went to get groceries couple hours after and busted her entire ass on that slick as hell concoction! I laughed for a little bit and about an hour later left the garage to check it out just in time to help her get groceries in. Busted my ass with a load of groceries in my arms. I don’t know if that concoction works or not but I know it makes whatever ice is there slick as all get out! Think I’ll just use melt away or let God take care of it from here on.

I tried it as well. It worked on the thin stuff albeit very slowly and I did it likes 3 times an hour apart from each. Was able to use a scrapper and it broke up in big pieces, used a broom to wipe it away. That Dawn does make it slick and hazardous in the meantime.
