Turing out to be a corn club year..... Is it wrong to pray for a monsoon?
No, but it needs to stay cold.
Earlier today I saw thousands of ducks and snow geese. First time for me seeing those numbers.
Around here the corn clubbers ain't killing them either. They've got water but with no ducks it's not much help. We need snow cover up north. The rest will sort itself out. But when we do get birds I'd like to have a little water in some of my places.
Along I-40 between Memphis and little rock. Bunch of Sandhills also, tall suckers.
Arkie never has any ducks, or water either.
Just need a little weather to the north and we are setup perfect for the Christmas push. We can handle some rain/snow but monsoons? Yeah, no. Wanna know what makes this year go from decent to terrible? 5" of rain and the 60 degree temps that will follow that amount of moisture. Dry and cold boys. Dry and cold.
Dry and cold with snow up North. I got plenty of water.
Not like they once did
I hate a damed warm season and this is shaping up to be 3 in a row. I can got to water when its dry but if its warm it just not the same.
Compared to the last 2 years, this is a dang arctic blizzard. I saw snow in Owensboro today I haven't seen that this early in about 5-6 years.
I dont see a forecast daytime hi thats 32 or below through December and I doubt there will be may in January. It probably wont freeze and lock anything up until March. Im looking for a front that will cause a major push or at least move the few birds that are down here to moving water.
I've killed a lot of ducks with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. Perfect duck killing weather.
I still need that H2o!! 6-10 inches would be fine with me!
