I have a couple little friends hanging around my house for a while. Sometimes they are a bit careless where they walk, but i hear them talking to each other every evening. One is named Bob and the other is Miss White.

I have been trying to figure out where their nest is located and finally discovered it today as Miss White flushed as i was spraying a ditchline.

I am setting both my Coon traps tonight. One with cat food and the other with PB&J sammich. I hope she comes back and raises some little ones. I have another pair at my other farm hanging around an old barn ( where i catch all the coons) and i hope to miss their nest when i mow that field.

That’s cool. Bob and Betty White. I’ve never found a quail nest. I sure miss hunting them.

I hope she comes back, quail are pretty thin anymore.

I used to help my Papaw dig holes in the ground and cover them with window screen. they would walk in and try to fly out, we'd catch them that way.

Hope they do good and live. I’ve got a few coming back on my place. Haven’t hunted them in a long time. I’m gonna wait it out to see if they get plentiful.

I've saw only 1 wild bobwhite nest in my life, that was probably 40 years ago. I also found a grouse nest once around that same time.

I used to have my caged bobwhites lay a clutch and go broody.

I saw a wild quail last year deer hunting in Campbell. Only the 2nd wild quail I've ever seen in my life. The other one was back home in NE Indiana in the early 90's

Me too. We almost always jumped a few quail during our rabbit hunting trips in the 80s. Normally you could hear them in the evenings around the house. With the boom of coyotes and everyone clearing out their grown up fence rows they were pretty much none existent by the mid 90s.

Before the Winters of 1977 & '78; I use to hunt Quail, back in former Southern Indiana home. The very last time I bagged my limit was during the 1976 season. Now I seldom see or hear a Bobwhite Quail.

We hunted until about 2000. Got our limits a few times each year. Got to be not enough birds to fool with so we switched to beagles.

She's in There. Betty White came back to her nest, covering herself completely, leaving a little exit tunnel. Yesterday, you could just see a wingtip but this morning she's really tunneled in
This is why you never see the nests.

I wish them little fellers were around like when I was a kid.
