I didn't see any KY bear hunting reports on here yet.
A friend of mine and Carl P. in Wayne county said his friend killed one almost 400# they gave him the Bear Fat. He says it makes the best biscuits I in the world. I don't know about that. Just repeating what he told me today.
Bare hunting report:
34 killed so far. I myself was lucky to take a small male in hound season. Also another small Male last year. I really wish we had a bear sub forum for those of is that love to hunt them here in ky.
Based on what I've read on here, I'd be scared to shoot one.
Ive read the same threads but dont see the big deal. Just dont kill one in a corn pile or over any bait for that matter and you wont have any problems whatsoever. All you have to do is telecheck them the same as a deer then call another number and someone from KDFWR will meet you somewhere weigh the bear pluck a few hairs and one tooth. Issue you a metal tag just like the old deer tags and your on your way. These stories about KDFWR going thru guts and questioning your every move are total hog wash.
I’ve got a little one hanging around close to my house.
He doesn’t look so little to me!
Maybe, but it’s abundantly clear that they are drastically over protecting the booming bear population.
Looks like a porker
He looks like he swallowed a trash can and 2 bbq grills.
That’s a nice looking bear I guess, no comparison to the light colored bear EC posted, it’s a little easier on the eyes
Regulations written to be “intentionally vague” kept a great deal of hunters from bear hunting, myself included.
They seem to like vague regulations and laws. Like the turkey baiting “area” with no definition of area. I haven’t read the bear hunting rules/regs but I’m guessing similar situation.
