OH NO........Thats the worst idea. I will worry about the broken bolt. Usually by the time most people grab the easy out, you have already moved past the point where it might actually work. 90% of the time, they just make a bigger hole and make it almost impossible to get the bolt out without drilling oversize and having to use a bigger screw.

I have a S&W 32 revolver that had a broken hammer strut pin. Instead of stopping and bringing it to me, they went after it with a Dremel tool and a carbide burr. Now, I have a 1/4" diameter coned hole where a .100" dimeter pin should go. lets just say that it is now going to cost him more to fix it than the pistol is really worth.

Left handed drill bit might work. Or take it to Dan.
I believe I would be a whole lot better off taking it to Dan as soon as I can . At one time we had a pretty good gunsmith locally but I believe he sold his shop and I know of no one that knows how to reach him from what I have been told by members of my family.

I've heard of many people having issues out of ruger firearms and ruger refusing to make it right. They expect you to pay their ruger premiums but if something isn't right or possibly goes wrong then your on your own. Based on the reports I'd think it'll eventually affect their sales.

I never had an issue with Ruger before. They sent me parts for both a Ruger American and an AR566 for free.

In your case, I would take it to Dan. He recently did some awesome work for me.

Gary Roman at Firearms Service Center used to be my go to person when I lived in Louisville, way back in 98-99. Gary passed a while back and the machinist/gunsmith, Mark Basner I think his name was, had left before that. I hear that the shop was still in business, but it just sent everything off to be worked on. No resident gunsmith.
