Naples, Punta Gorda, Sarasota…I’ve frequented all of them. No family down right now but got some friends. Most are at least a few miles inland.

My mother has a place in Bradenton which is just south of Tampa. Thankfully she is home and not down there right now. Hopefully it stays far enough south and doesn’t cause to much damage in her community.

My in-laws place where we stay so often is about 25 miles south of Sarasota but they are about 8.5 inland. Myakka River nearby though and it can move some water! My wife’s uncles place is about 5 miles from the gulf in Naples. Guess we’ll find out about damage and flooding in the coming days.

Fortunately I’ve never been in a hurricane. I feel so bad for those having to evacuate or who are trying to prevent their homes from being destroyed. I can’t imagine. They are in my prayers.

My inlaws live in Rotunda West and took a direct hit. Got the call at 5:30 the house was destroyed and roof gone but they were alive. Wife is in shock. Would appreciate any prayers. Worry about them through the night.
