Several people have asked how I was able to deer hunt, esp when I do it alone. It's not easy at times, but where there's a will, there's a way. So last week I set up a video camera. This video starts off by my arriving for an evening hunt and concludes with me leaving following a morning hunt. I hope you enjoy my video production and I apologize for the quality. We all have our hurdles in life, mine just happens to be more noticeable. At least, enjoy the music.

Be aware, it is 14:00 minutes long.

My hat is off to you. Many would have given up hunting, but you took this to another level with the terrain you hunt.

Thanks for sharing the vid.

BTW, Nice truck.

WOW, this gives me so much more will power to do things I think I can not do. I don't see how in the world you made it back up that steep incline, thanks for sharing with us.

I agree with your comments. The first thing I thought of was "man what an inspiration other people could get from watching this video." I hope Tim Farmer eventually sees this as it would make a good segment for Ky Afield.

w/chunter I have a question for you.Watching you get out of the pickup on arrival it looks like you dropped yourself down into the wheel chair. How difficult is it for you to get back into the truck since the truck seat is higher than the wheel chair by a sizable amount? You are truly an inspiration sir!

Thanks bud. I am fortunate that my injury was at the T-10 level (belly button) and I've been able to maintain my upper body strength. Maybe I should have included loading up after the hunt, but I didn't want to push back down the hill and get the camera, so I loaded up on top and drove down to retrieve the camera. Basically I place my big feet up in the truck, then I use my arms to lift up to the seat. Sort of like during a tricep push up.

That's something to be proud of right there. The video doesn't show all the work you put in, and all the trial and error and frustration that must have gone into making this look...not effortless, but I think we could say routine. Good man.

Good for you, sir. You have to work hard to enjoy the outdoors, I hope a booner walks in front of your blind this season. I hope kids with disabilities sees this to get inspiration to do what they want. Hats off to you.

After watching this video it makes you wonder how other hunters complain about small things like having to get up early. When I saw you come over that hill I thought there was no way you were going back up on the way out. Proved me wrong. A lazy hunter would have driven his truck to the bottom of the hill, and in your situation I would not have blamed you. What an inspiring thing to see.

Great video sir! After watching that it makes my 400yd walk from my truck to the stand look like a cake walk.

Ever thought about getting a electric wheel chair? My cousin was in a pretty bad car wreck probably 20yrs ago and has one. He can't drive a vehicle so he'll have somebody drop him off and off he goes.

W/CHUNTER,

You should have your own hunting show! I enjoyed watching how motivated, determined and driven you are to have overcome a injury that would have made many to never consider the chance of ever being able to hunt again. It's evident that you have a passion for life and no roadblock is going to ever stop letting you do what you set out to accomplish. I also seriously believe that you could easily drag one from your stand, to the top of the hill and back to the truck. You are a inspiration to all sportsmen, my hat goes off to you.
