This will be my first year doing it.My doctor said they do not have noise cancelling so whatever I do ...do not shoot with them turned on. Seems like a lot of stuff to be doing while turkey hunting!

I've shot a few with my non cancelling aids and I can't tell that they've damaged my hearing. I didn't have a choice I can't hear well enough to go without them. It's been 15 years since I started using them. Some noise cancelling muffs will function with aids, mine will but I don't use them.

She told me that if I used the muffs that experience feedback. She also emphasized that if I shoot the gun with them turned on that it could damage the hearing aids!

My dad can’t hear them unless they are bad close anymore. He’s a great caller and most of the time he over calls bad because he don’t know how close they are. He’s got skills though. If he can see it, he’ll figure out a way to kill it.

I am almost totally deaf in my left ear ,but I can hear some in my right ear.The only thing I know to do is try and slip them out when they get close!!!

I’ve seen suppressors on shotguns, no idea what kind of pattern them things would throw or price may be outrageous. Or could use a crossbow. Don’t expect ya to do either of those options, but just throwing some options out there. Hate to see bad hearing made worse. Don’t want you to fire a shot this year that makes you unable to hear them gobble next year

I’m pretty much deaf in my left ear,I used walkers game ears ,probably since the eighties ,started with the regular game ear ,replaced one of them ,under warranty. The last one I bought ,was the elite II pro I think ,it works great ,don’t hunt no more ,but I get out on the porch and listen durning season.I use it to balance my hearing out ,I could hear but ,tell what direction, this helped a lot.

I am seriously looking at a pair of these bad boys. Not cheap, but they are made for hunting/shooting.

Do they make Rx quality hearing aids that have noise canceling ability? As deaf as I’m getting (and looking at my dad and grandmother) it’s only a matter of time.

The hearing aids I have have little roller knobs so if you are getting ready for a shot, you could just reach up and switch them off....before the Tom gets where he can Bust you.
Cheapo MD Aids from the Internet but they suffice me.
