I think Dawn does 3 cups of sugar to 5 cups of water. No dye, that is not good for hummers. Just heat it enough to dissolve sugar, don't boil.

Location Location Location. I have a ton of pollinator flowers planted around the farm, typically in 1/4 acre patches, and she has tons of flowers around and on the porch.

I agree based on my mom attracting so many so quickly with just a couple red hibiscus and mandevilla plants.

Half a cup of sugar and one cup of water.
Mimosa trees drive them crazy. I was at the farm we have for sale and there was a mimosa tree there and hummingbirds was all in it. No one is feeding them within a mile of the place.

I’ve got about 10 females wearing my feeders out. Guess they’re getting ready for the migration. I’ve not seen a male in 10 days or more. How late do y’all usually have hummers?

They have been feeding heavy here to. We have 15-20 prolly 4 males. Wife has been filling 3 of the 4 feeders every day to day and a half. Wrap around porch is a dangerous place! .

They’re thick on mom’s, filling two about every day now. Looks like a combination of older females and this year’s hatchlings by variety in size. Males are long gone. We'll feed until the last are gone, it’s a wives tale it’ll keep them from migrating. It helps the late migraters be fat and healthy for the trek.

My little lady has 12 feeders out and is keepin Domino sugar in business. LOTSA youngins. I like seeing the babies this time of year. They'll damn near light on you.
We've had over 30 since it got hot. Conservative guess. They drive me crazy when I'm shooting my bow out front, they love that bright fletching on my arrows, and my hi vis yellow shirts.

A bunch of ours moved on out a couple of days ago. Still have at least one large territorial male and several females.

We have two feeders and fill once or twice a day, somewhere between 20-30 Hummers. My wife makes hers 4 parts water:1 part Sugar and a pinch of cherry Koolaide. This year is a lot BUT only one male!!!

My wife keeps about a dozen feeders around our deck, and fillls all of them twice a day. Cashiers at walmart think we are making whiskey.
