Used to I wouldn't miss opening day of archery but with it opening earlier and earlier I find myself not getting into a big rush anymore. Just wait until cooler temps, it is a long season.

If I have a shooter showing regularly, morning or evening, and I have a favorable wind, I'll be in a tree opening day. I prefer to wait for afternoon, but I've had situations where they are showing only in AM. If that happens, and I think I slip in early, I'll hunt the AM. I killed my only velvet buck opening morning in 2009...

I normally wait till afternoons to hunt , that seems to be when most of the activity occurs in sept.
Like others if I have a buck on cam in the AM I will hunt mornings.

The heat doesn't bother me as much as the mosquitos.

Probably not. Been waiting til Oct the last couple years. Have enjoyed it more. Rarely see does that aren’t with little ones and bucks rarely appear before mid October where we hunt.

If I can find a good fence crossing I plan to hunt. Only way to kill them is when they are jumping over a fence. Anyone can kill them when they ain't flying.

I really love hunting during the rut in November.I use to bow hunt a lot.
I killed this buck on the third day of season in September,it was 95 degrees.
My biggest bow buck ,142 inch velvet 8 pt.
I dont care for hot weather hunting. The middle to end of October when the leaves are colored
and falling with cooler temps was always my favorite for bow hunting.
