Must of been some woodie beat downs in my neck of woods. Heard few vollies
Didn't go good here shot a few teal.
Shot a few jumbos
Caught the hell out of some blue cats tho
A few ducks died but lost my calls, so crappy. I couple of them I can replace easily but had a mvp that's been on my lanyard since season 2 twelve years ago. Had a duck band and my bands from my dog passing hunt tests. I'm bummed out today.
We killed three on the opener. Seemed like mostly woodies in Ballard. Saw a few mallards and screwed up the one opportunity on them..
Drove around and scouted on Friday. Saw nothing worth setting up on.
Slept in with the rain Sat.
Looked for a bit of water in a spot after all the rain but no water=no ducks on Sunday. Sunday was the missed opportunity day!
Hate to hear that. I lost a straight meat Honker that I had for years. Was broke in real good. Bought a replacement but it's just not the same call.
Slow. So, about normal for T-day opener. Bring on cold fronts, dry weather, and snow.
We got took to school on Thursday. Picked up a few on Thursday. Didn't hunt on Saturday... Flood scared me out of where I wanted to hunt Sunday, but did pick up 2 on big water.
This Saturday I'll be supporting my Boyle County Rebels as they go for their 9th football state championship in Lexington. Sunday I'm wacking woodducks!
Yeah buddy! Bring home chip number 9!!! We're steam rolling this year.
Drop in the water or just cant find them?
I went out to pick up decoys. Told my daughter to pick up hulls and throw our neck gaiters, gloves calls etc in the bag. Came back out of the river carried the decoys and my gun. She had the bag and her gun, I never double checked her. She cant remember if she grabbed them or not but they are no where to be found....Its ruined my day, probably my week.
Know the feeling. Lost a call that Mr Rickenback tuned for me at his store. He past on just a couple of months later.
My lanyard was in a fire several years ago. I knew exactly where it was in there. My wife spent couple hours digging through the mess in that spot. Found most of the bands they are pretty rough but went on another lanyard. Couple years ago guy ran over my lanyard picking up decoys flattened some of bands. Hopefully you will find it. I now wear mine from truck to truck on hunts.
DAMN BR hate that for you. Some calls just fit well. Im still using my old Yentzen sure shot I bought in 1999 and my Big River long honker I bought in 2000. I got bands but don't wear them. They go on a shelf in my man cave. Hopefully they will show up.
the good old ones are hard to replace hope you find them .
