I loved them back in the 40 Minutes of Hell days. I don’t care if Nolan was a racist or not. I thought they brought a lot of fun energy to the SEC at that time. But yes, keep your shirt on jackass.

Murray State hired Nolan’s top assistant Steve Edgar in early 90s, very fun times watching that “40 minutes of hell” and platooning 5 in and out. So we played at Arkansas circa 1995 and my wife at the time cheered for the Racers and she knew some Arkansas cheerleaders she met at a summer camp. Said they were gonna hook me and her mom up with “good seats”. So while she ride with the cheer team I took off with her mother lol. Drove 7+ hours to Fayetteville, got stuck in traffic from a wreck plus her mama needing a rest stop every 45 minutes and arrived 10:00 minutes into the first half, already down 19 points by the time we got seated. Seats were in the very top row, corner and I had to duck some to see under a vent lol. The court looked the size of a matchbox from our seats and those asshats did the “woo pig souie” chant every damn TV timeout. I was so pissed after the 30 point shellacking that I didn’t say 3 words to my MIL the entire ride back lol. Never again.

Saw the Clinton Exit between Little Rock and Fayetteville. That was 30 years ago and the difference in Little Rock and Fayetteville was like Mexico and the US. Bet it’s far worse now.

I stayed in a hotel right off I40 in LR once. Around 9:00 pm I called to have dominoes deliver a pizza and they laughed at me.

I coached boys and girls in HS and my girls were always better FT shooters. I don’t watch the NBA but when I used to I noticed there was rarely a big man who shot more than 60%. I was always like, “You do this for a living and make millions and you can hit a free 15 footer!”

Looks like raiding OVC teams for their top dogs didn’t help Pearl much in the NCAAs. I will give him credit for bringing his team to Murray though, very few big budget coaches have the sack for that.

Agreed. Auburn came to EKU when they had Charles Barkley and Brigham Young came when they had Shawn Bradley. Nice to see that from time to time.

Back in the late 80s/early 90s I saw some big budgets in Racer Arena. Ole Miss came and got thumped lol, Texas showed up as well as Memphis when they were still State. Rare to see that anymore. Too much to lose for very little gain outside of experience.

That kid that sat beside Mussleman at the press conference was a Man! I’ve noticed Barkley and Kellog talking about teams have Men and not freshmen leading them. Seems exact opposite of what Kentucky does.
