Reflections from my first NCAA Men’s Tournament Experience…
1. Up close, SDSU had some real dudes. Screw rankings. I told my wife 3 mins in that if they didn’t let Bama get out and run no way Bama was beating them in the half court game. Dudes looked like NFL tight ends!
2. Creighton- you can tell McDermott and his staff can coach. Not very many of those guys would have been big time recruits and they play so well together and execute the heck out of it. Nembhard is a floor general. He gets yelled out sucks it up yells at his teammates they sick it up and get it done. Old school beautiful basketball. And when in doubt the dorky headband kid will drill a 3 on you. I’m a fan!
3. Princeton-although they have been the tourneys Cinderella many times it will be tough for me to ever pull for them again. Players seem like good kids but their fans were the most obnoxious pricks I’ve ever seen or been around (and I’m a Steelers fan with family from Pittsburgh and we’re pretty obnoxious). If that’s being smart and rich, I’ll take dumb and poor any day of the week. They had the ugliest and worst F’n cheerleaders that I’ve ever seen. Pretty sure they just had tryouts when they found out they made the tournament. One was a tranny, I’m sure of it. And their Pep Band…they better figure out a way to reproduce asexually because none of them are ever getting laid! Their drum major was dressed like a wizard, they had two beating on a plastic Santa Clause and plastic snowman with plastic bats. And one girl (maybe) was playing an accordion! Oh, yes, nothing rocks Back in Black like an accordion! The fans, prick city! Bump into you and don’t apologize, cut lines, one grown man was heckling these little kids in Creighton apparel. I’m glad they got their a$$ beat!

Overall, 6:30 on a Friday was tough with traffic. We arrived right at jump ball and left in plenty of time. YUM is a great facility. Too bad L’ville is awful. Seats were even better than I thought they were. We were on the 3rd row, 103. Pretty awesome atmosphere. I can check it off the list.

That's New Jersey (and the NE). Lived there 2 yrs. My best view of Jersey was in the rear view mirror when I crossed the Delaware River for the last time.

I was stationed at the shipyard in Philly for a year, across the Delaware from Camden. Philly is a shithole but Camden made it look like Martha’s Vineyard by comparison. I’d never live in either of those places BUT the food scene in Philly was off the chain 30+ years ago.

Me to. Glad Zazs gone to. Tired od 40 year old Timme playing.
I texted my brother last night and asked if Timme played with Stockton at Gonzaga in the early 80s? Wanna hear something crazy? They said he was allowed to come back for another year if he chooses. WTH?!

Let me tell you guys, remember I went Friday night. SDSU and Creighton are no joke. Seeing them in person in almost floor level puts it in perspective. The LeDee guy from SDSU is listed at 240 and that may be light. Dude was ripped and could manhandle those tall skinny post players from Bama. And as far as good guards I could watch the Nembhard kid from Creighton all day.

We already have one big upset with Furman over Virginia in a boneheaded play by Virginia. I have Alabama over Texas in the finals with Alabama winning it all.

An old buddy said he would bet 100 bucks the ACC would go farther in the tournament than the SEC. I’m not a gambler but couldn’t pass that up. The SEC has 3 more teams and higher seeds.
So did you pay your buddy his $100 since Miami made it farther than any SEC team?
