Some of you guys may remember from last year that me and some buddies did a youth turkey hunt with Hope Outdoors. Hope Outdoors is a Christian based group that takes children that are terminally ill, or disabled on hunts of a lifetime. Several of our members here provided support, and wanted to be involved again, if we did another hunt. I am in the planning stages of organizing everything again this year. My church has agreed to supply the food, and serve as meeting place. Many people sent things last year, and they were greatly appreciated by the children, and there parents. Anyone that feels the urge to provide assistance of any kind, please feel free to p.m. me. We have 5 to 8 children coming this year.

I considered the experience of working with this group, and meeting these young people as a "life changing" experience. Thanks again to everyone that helped last year, and anyone that would like join in this year feel free.

I would love to help out. What are some examples of things we can send that will help you guys out or help the kids out?

Used blinds that somebody is through with, or knows that they will never need again. I wouldn't buy a new blind to donate. It will just be getting used this one weekend a year. The guys that do most of the calling prefer no blind when they hunt. This hunt you just about have to have one. We actually sit up 2 blinds at each location. One for the hunter/helper, and one for the parent/camera man. We are going to try to video their hunts for their parents.
Last year we had some people that wanted to help with their hotels rooms. We put them up at the Convention Center Inn in Muhlenberg County. Any small donation to Hope Outdoors, towards the hotel rooms would be appreciated. You can visit their web site to donate its http://www.hopeoutdoors.org/index.htm.
Many of the gifts last year were anonymous. We had:turkey prints, turkey calls for the kids to take home, hunting license purchased, fans beards and feet mounted. All donations were, and still are appreciated.

I'll give this event a little bump. We've had the following donated:Hotel rooms, taxidermy, t-Shirts, calls, and food. The majority of the plans are in place, and I have someone lined up to call for each of the kids. I appreciate what has been provided so far, and know the kids will. If anyone knows a youth that could benefit from this experience feel free to pm me. As of now, all of our slots are full, but we would be happy to try and accommodate another.

This is such a wonderful opportunity to help someone have a great experience in the outdoors. Lord willing I will be a part of this hunt as long as Rodeo Man continues to host it. Can't wait! Thanks for your contribution

Ignert,

I still feel bad when I call you that. We've got a big group coming this year. Looks like the event is growing.
