Putting the last final touches on a few sets Friday and getting all my cams out and the farm corn’d up. Other than mineral this time of year, golden nuggets are hard to beat. Seems to work in my area. Good luck!

Good luck…I’ve ran 16 cams since June and still yet to find a shooter. I’m gonna relocate cams soon.. I’ve always said it’s hard to beat them golden nuggets… “Feedy Greedy” is pretty good as well but it’s hard to get it my part of the state…I’ve heard a lot of people have good luck using jello powder on their corn as well

Cherry Kool aid will draw em in, quick. Keeping them there til bow season is a different proposition all together

Lucky buck brings them in pretty quick but usually is short lived for me, and the stuff is kinda costly. I have 4 Apple trees and 1 pear tree in my yard, so I pick up a few buckets and dump them when checking cams. They like those a lot.

As far as shooters go, I haven’t got a pic of anything even resembling a shooter yet lol

Save ya money. Put your stand up a week or so before you hunt it. Wait till the rut starts and hunt a funnel. It may take a few days and maybe some all day sits but there'll be a shooter come through at some point, maybe a few.

Pretty solid advice here. Only thing I do different is I will hang the stand the same day I hunt it. But I use a mobile setup mostly, a climber or a saddle. Funnels in the rut are a solid strategy

Run n Gun with mobile sets on funnels in the rut is my favorite way to hunt but the first couple weeks of season on a pile is best chance to kill those hit listers…that is if you play your cards right IMO

Yep, I agree with you on stand hanging on mobile setup's. We usually hunt with a ladder or hang-on and don't want them staying out in the weather long or out were others can help themselves to them.

You're right, it can very well be the best time to kill a big one. I just won't hunt in the heat. I'm a cool, crisp, frost type hunter. You sound straight out of a tv show with your "hit listers" comments lol. I have a very creative and unique name for them also, I call them big bucks. lol

And apparently it works in archery and modern firearms season. That junk corn in those white burlap sacks can not do that.

How many properties and how much land do you have access to? I have limited spots so i have to deal with what i have.

i put out 3 acres of clover this year and will sow in WW in the fall.

Lat sept or early oct based on rain. I like to plant before a good rain but will reseed if i get it wrong. (If it washes away or rain doesnt come and the birds eat my seed.)
