first day of scouting down. Rounded the corner to a hole loaded with birds. Had that awe yea feeling for about 2 seconds. Then I realized the majority were hooded mergansers. Saw a few small groups of big ducks. 1 lonely goose. Was surprised with the ice. Wasn’t expecting it in some places. So far excited. Some game plan is better then no game plan.

Best of luck to everyone. It’s opening day. Happy thanksgiving. Thankful for a lot of things. Ducks or none I get to come back to an awesome family and a good meal and for that I’m happy. Be safe out there

Me and a buddy gave it a try this morning, killed a whopping 5, ringnecks and teal. I've had worse days. Just enjoyed getting out for the opener for the first time in years. Hopefully try for something green tomorrow.

Lost my most reliable hunting partner of 11 years today and my family lost a piece of it. Life goes on but damn it sucks.

Not gonna lie, he was old and I knew we were on borrowed time but it’s a lot harder than the false reality I worked up in my head. Simplest routines are a constant reminder. I miss my dog.
