Working on Jerky and Snack Sticks today and running into a real issue loading the 21mm casings…

When the pressure builds in the stuffer, the meat will push past the plunger ring and go on top of the plunger. This only happens with smaller casings and happened the last batch too.

Any suggestions? The mix is going straight from the mixer to the stuffer and I’m using extra water.

I bought a 5# stuffer after reading some reviews that it would solve the issue but the damn thing didn’t come with 21mm tubes.

What kind of stuffer is it? If it's like ours (5# LEM), there's a silicone gasket that goes around the top of the plunger & there's nothing getting past it!

Also, ours didn't come with a snack stick tube either - we had to order it separately.

The 5# stuffer is LEM…I should have been better prepared but I assumed it would come with the 21mm tube. I tried Rural King, but they didn’t have any tubes.

The bigger stuffer, which is the one failing, is a “cabelas”. Any hacks that could finish this batch out? It’s miserable work with it coming over the plunger.

I’m thinking silicone may help but I don’t want to waste the second half of this batch…not sure how to approach it tbh. Freeze the ground in the fridge and order a new tube for the small stuffer?

Tripled the water, greased the heck out of nozzle and cleaned/reseated the gasket. Second batch went through without a hitch.

Thanks for the help.
