  1. Hi from here in Australia, I live in the Capital Canberra which is surrounded by the bush, but the wife and I are considering a move (shes a writer and her publisher is in the States.
, I work here and hunt Deer here (Fallow and Sambar but I also hunt pigs, goats rabbits and foxes and feral cats which are a plague on the small native wild life here, ) I suggested Kentucky as neither of us like big citys I was looking at places and we could afford to buy a small acreage with a house for us and our Daughter. and maybe do a little hunting. raise some veges and chickens, make the 20 acre wood into a small habitat for Whitetail . Looking forward to picking your brains for tips and advice .

    Cheers from Oz. Ian S

    Welcome to the forum!

Lots of folks are moving to Kentucky. I belong to a couple of local Cattlemen's clubs and we are constantly seeing folks from larger cities move into the area.

I'm sure there aren't too many questions that you have that someone on the forum can't answer.

One web site I'll suggest is landandfarm.com. This site provides listings of farms and acreage for sale by county. Check it out. And don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.

    .
Welcome, and let me begin by asking a favor of you.
Roughly midway between Louisville, KY (home of the Ky Derby) and Bowling Green, KY (where Corvettes are built), there’s an Australian-themed park. I would like you and your family to visit there, and tell us if it gives an accurate depiction of life in Australia.
    Here’s a link:

Seriously, good luck with your decision, and, again, Welcome!

    Welcome,
Kentucky is a beautiful state with lots of natural resources for you to enjoy.

Are you a progressive liberal Democrat?

Life is a bitch on here if you are.

Is there a certain area of Ky you've been looking at? You might be surprised by the difference in terrain, population, and culture within just a couple hours drive.
