Hard Antlered Buck

Today is March 18. Was coming back from Frankfort to Lexington this evening and looked over in a field and there were 5-6 deer and one was a huge buck with hard antlers on both sides.

I’ve got a couple dinks behind the house that are still holding on. I thought for sure they’d all be dropped by now.

Funny this has been brought up. I've had two bucks this week on camera. Both are dinks but one has both sides and the other has one. First antler I've seen since early January.

Man KY is crazy. We have does dropping by early April sometimes and bucks still packing in April.

Watching a small one now packing both sides behind our house.

I haven't seen any still packing for a few weeks but I have seen a couple with little velvet nubs already. A guy at work found a shed in the parking lot Friday morning that had to of just dropped the night before. It was a small 3 point side.

One year during spring youth turkey, when the boys were still little we had gone out to eat that evening after dark. On the way home we took a side road past a church next to a wheat field that deer always pile into. As we came up on the field we could see several deer, then a doe darted out in front of us with a hard antlered 8 point right behind her, nose to the ground chasing.....

@Redlined I used to remember the date but I don't now...but it was give or take 20th. It was 2 basket rack year and a half old small 6 or 8 pointers. I was watching through binoculars...one was packing both sides..one had dropped one side and still packing the other.

Bucks pack till April everywhere not just Kentucky. Well they'll be a few hanging on late. I had 2 on camera Wednesday with both sides

I may know this deer. And if it is him I saw him about a week and a half ago still carrying. And if it is the same one he’s a stud. I’ve seen him 3 times in the samish spot. 2 times in the am once in the pm

I saw a dandy last year second weekend of Turkey season still packing a full set. Still got a couple on camera now.
