For a town it’s size Lexington has a lot of restaurants. As far as choices it depends on what kind of food you want and how much you want to spend. I like Halls. It’s not a 4 star restaurant, but if your looking for some good catfish and beer cheese at a fair price it’s a good place. I haven’t been to proud mary’s yet but heard good things. Boondogs is on that south end of town and is a good place. It’s a good spot in the summer with plenty of outdoor tables. Ramseys is another good spot to get some good country cooked food and is one of my favorites. There’s one off man o war close to liquor barn. If your looking for steak I’m a fan of Malones. Jeff Ruby’s is great but it’s high dollar. Malones isn’t cheap but it’s cheaper than Jeff Ruby’s and is consistently good. I’ve never felt like I didn’t get what I paid for there.

Halls is a staple for Central Kentucky. Good Food and been there for awhile. But Proud Mary's is a food throw down for seafood boils.
Malone's is consistently good but pricey. Jeff Ruby's is well Jeff Ruby nothing done better. But if you havent had Malone's I would go there first and if you think the price was cheap for the meal. By all means go to Jeff Ruby's.

Lot of old posts in here somewhere on the Old Johny Allman's there on the river where Halls etc are now. Now that was the real deal in the 50-60s and until it closed.

Serious Beer Cheese recipe arguments all go through/include Allmans at some point.

Winchells --- a little sports bar with dang good food. Never been disappointed and the wife and I have tried quite a few different items. Anything from breakfast to dinner

They are not known for it but I think their breakfast is way better than lunch and dinner.

Thanks for the food suggestions. The wife and I are going to check out both Proud Mary’s and Halls? Looking forward to putting on some miles this weekend. Hwy 62 to Maysville, then over to Rabbit Hash, then down to Hall’s then over to Catfish Haven in Louisville. With a lot of places in between
Sounds like a fun trip.

On the way to Maysville, hit up Mayslick Dinner Bell, you won’t be disappointed
