KSB..... gunsmiths on our end are far and few between. Which use to be one at Lone Oak ... the Gun Doctor and then there’s Shooters Supply offering some services.

Pending what you need done.. I’m not sure either one truly specialize in S&W revolvers.

Which honestly if it were me and it was much to be done.. I’d contact S&W and send it to them. Being S&W revolvers pending what you got are doing nothing but going up in value. Having the work done and it overall operation checked out by S&W would mean more to me personally.

It took me a few hours to clean it up as it had been neglected for the last 20 or so years it appears. It still kind of feels like the cylinder is sticking a tad when you open it. I’ve heard that some of the older S&W might be a little tough like that, but Dad’s is smooth for its age.

Either someone tried to do the pinto look as the cylinder, cylinder release and ejector rod are blue while the barrel and frame are nickel. Or they just piecemealed it together. It’s missing a side plate screw under the grip, too.

I’d like to get someone far more knowledgeable than me to look at it. I will say it cleaned up better than I expected.

Edit to add: The revolver is a Model 36 produced in 1973.

You may try to tighten the ejector rod, this may help with the sticking. I have a model 10 and the ejector rod will loosen as it's shot and won't let the cylinder open if not tightened soon enough.

I have a K17 22 that I put a piece of Teflon tape on the ejector rod threads to keep it snugged up.
