Thanks guys, I do have them in a room with a dehumidifier. This morning we are getting a tote and jugs of wd40. Going to take an air pressure hose to then to get dirt off and then soak them. Wipe em off and soak them again. It’s not gun oil but it should help. Maybe finish with a gun oil. This will atleast, I hope, stop the rusting process. He lost everything he had but hopefully we can save these
Pretty sure WD40 is not recommended for guns.

That’s what I’ve read today too unless emergent situations. I called a gunsmith in Lexington and that’s actually what he said I should do it right now to displace the water. He said to make sure that I lubricate them good after because wd40 is just a displacement and not a lubricant or protector. Honestly, it’s all new to me

ATF is good to used in the winter time. Guns won't freeze up or not cycle. It is a plus if you hunt out west in the cold and snow.
Sure stinks though. I use the Amsoil synthetic gun lube. It’s all but scent free unless you get it in chamber. Makes some stinky ash.

If it’s a long gun you can ship it USPS. Technically you can ship disassembled handguns but it’s a real pain.

Look up Dean’s Ultrasonic Cleaning on Facebook. I’ve seen where people in my area of central KY have used them. Looks like it does a really good job. Haven’t used them personally myself though… But the process itself looks it would really get into everything and clean a gun.

You not that what I’ve heard most my adult life. My dad used it on his guns. Never had a problem. So that I used growing up to. And to this day never had a problem. Put it on a sock and wipe it down and put it up. I honestly never had a problem with my guns. It’s took surface rust off my guns before but maybe ain’t spose to use it. Idk. I have.
There is a pic of a gun on back of a WD-40 can. Or it was years ago. May not be now idk.

I have used WD-40 on all my guns all my life. However, a gun shop told me it was fine for the exterior but not inside the gun. He took my 45 apart and showed me explicitly what he meant. It made the gun powder gum up inside. Right then and there I started using gun oil for internal cleaning. I mainly use Remoil nowadays but have no issue using WD-40 externally

Yes that’s right but I’ve done it to internally but wiped it clean or used a air compressor to blow off excess. But anyway. I get it. I use a light oil now to

Have to minimize photos but there’s a few descent guns in there
