I was scouting a new hunting area with my hunting brother when we came up on a small grave yard. He told me grave yards are hot spots for bucks. Claims they will hang out around graveyards.

Has anyone else heard / believe this?

I think its got more to do with mowed grass in the middle of the woods than having graves there. But one of my favorite early nov spots was a creek bottom thicket below a grave yard.

I hunted a farm for several years that had maybe 10 old graves in it. About middle ways of a long ridge. It was always a great spot. Seemed like deer was always crossing thru it and hanging around it. Friend had one on his dad's old farm about same type area. He was convinced of them being great areas. He took a couple dandy ones around it.

Was this an area that was maintained or treated any differently than any other part of the farm?

Both places was not maintained. Just wooded ridge top with some graves. Both did have some honeysuckles growing in them.

Well big bucks are like ghosts so the graveyard sounds about perfect.
