My new place came with a stocked pond. I was out feeding the catfish tonight when a fair size grass carp came up and started hoovering up the pellets.

He's got to be 12 pounds at least probably more. The pond is pretty much clear of vegetation, I'm guessing because of the carp, or carps.

Just wondering, do I leave him be? He looks stupid easy to bonk with a bow or a .22 And the pond is clear, so not sure what he's actually eating.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Hoene is right they stop being beneficial to your pond when they get large. I just built a pond and figuring all that out. Check this group out. Lots of great info on managing your pond.
