gps under cover?

    has anyone used their gps under heavy tree canopy i heard they lose signal alot .... i dont know but ive used mine to find my coonin buddies houses, to find my way out of the woods (matter of fact it pretty much saved my live the other night) and to obviously find my dogs.... but ive got a guy i hunt with who refused to buy one untill he sees it work in the spring and summer has anyone had anytrouble under the tree canopy?

    No, but you have to get one with the high sensitivity antenna or it is a real possibility.

    Most of the newer ones come with the better antenna now.

    I've got an older model and it's useless in tree cover. I got it 1999 or 2000 when I was living in Wyoming. It worked great out there but is useless here if I'm under a tree.

    Mine goes out under the tree cover sometimes.

    I used to be a land surveyor until about 3 weeks ago (lay off). GPS has come a long ways in the past few years. They will continue to improve and will work better under trees before to long.
