I know it’s been a fairly light winter but yesterday was the first time I’d been back to the woods since my last deer hunt. Still had two cameras out. One was a phone camera and I had shut it off from home a couple months back. The other, an older Covert with Rayovac batteries. Put 7 plus a 1 AA Amazon batteries in and it’s been out since early October. Was still taking pics with considerable battery life left. Not lithium, but for 60 @ $21 that’s pretty good.

Buy once, cry once.
The Eneloop AA rechargeables last for 1000’s of recharges and are supposed to retain 70% of their charge even after sitting 10 years. I can’t verify that last part but I can tell you they are hands-down the best AA batteries I’ve ever used.

Is rayovac what dollar general sell? If so about 10 year ago a guy I work with was helping his son with a science fair project.
Dollar general batteries beat out all AA's found in Fleming, Mason and Rowan counties
Maybe? I buy Rayovac High Energy 60 for $21 at Lowe’s but others may have that same deal too.

I’ve been using the Energizer Lithiums and have no complaints.
This is what I was using (still do at times) until a buddy ask me how long I leave my cameras out. I told him usually just like September-January and he was like, “If you’re not leaving them out year around try Rayovac.” I did and they’ve done the job. But yes, those energizer lithiums are tough. I’ve used them for multiple seasons in the same camera.

My camera that the failed theif messed with a couple weeks ago had been out since October and the Energizers were still showing 100%.

I‘ve been using them the last 2 or 3 years and love how they last but I do have ‘frequent’ issues of one of the batteries just dying. I run around 15 cameras so my ‘sample size’ is 90 plus batteries so the percentage is probably low. But, have at least one battery every month or so that just completely dies. I test them and the others will still be just about maxed out with power so just replace the one and move on. Still, surprises me how regular this occurrence is.
