I sat in the blind until midday both Saturday and Sunday. Probably should have run and gunned a bit but dang it I was comfortable and just enjoying nature.

It's really normal to see toms together. They settle their pecking order early on, and they will continue to run together all Spring. Saw a 4 on 2 fight this morning. All mature birds....

They are usually busted up here by now, might see 2 togather , but thats usually, it, but, i have seen big groups of jakes, this time of year here, and big groups of gobblers in the winter, but its unusual, for that many to be togather, here now,

Not normal in any areas I’ve ever hunted. This time of year maybe a couple birds together but mostly single toms roaming or with a hen or two.

Only thing I could come up with is an extremely large flock of 2 yr old Toms, just my opinion. Did you notice a large amount of jakes last season?

I had 3 Toms with 7 hens in the field yesterday morning. They didn't want to come to me with the real hens in the field. Had 2 Jakes come to me I passed on. My buddy killed a good Tom Sunday morning. 3 were together. He picked the biggest.

“Covered Up in Hens” describes my situation pretty well. I’m in the number one Telecheck county in the state, but...

Yep. There were 21 hens in that field, I could only get 18 or 19 in the pic. If I ever pull a bird through 21 hens, y’all are going to hear about it!

Reminds me of a farm I hunted for a long time but not anymore. It was covered up with hens. Made it almost impossible because every tom would have 10 hens with it. Once the hens left the Tom you might have a chance then but it seemed they always had hens with them. When I did get a Tom I was pretty proud of it.

Saw two together and that’s all I’ve seen this year. Toms usually split up for a long time by this time where I hunt. Guy who owns the land said he had seen hens with poults. There’s a couple of hens probably got nests near my blind. I hear them peep, peeping but haven’t laid eyes on them yet.
