Yeah, we suck. I'll admit it... And I'm not even gonna cry about being picked on, which is more then I can say for some people.

Haha. Nice dig. I wouldn't say that I "cry" though.

My point for making this thread is a sarcastic one. There is absolutely no need for me to make a thread of this nature besides to stir up crap.

We definetly deserved the loss tonight. VMI shot the lights out, {although our lack of defense didn't help any.} But i feel like by the middle of the season we will be a solid team.

That's what message boards are for. I don't blame you for starting this thread and it doesn't hurt my feelings. You would have been involved had I not made that thread about UL squeaking by NAIA teams.;)

BTW- Did Louisville beat Cincy last night? I can't find the score anywhere.:D

All kidding aside, last night reaffirmed what i've been thinking, but have been too afraid to say in public. UK STILL has problems.

First off, Patterson is the most overrated player UK has had in years. He was useless last night. If you will remember last year, UK played their best ball w/out him. People that thought this team would be better by addition through subtraction by losing Bradley and Crawford were sorely mistaken. Meeks played well as predicted, but the guy is like an eggshell. He's always limping and looks to be in pain half the time. I'll bet $50 he misses some games with injuries by mid January (if not sooner) and will not be 100% by seasons end.

Gillispie has brought in some talented players, but what does talented mean? We have guys that have decent raw skills, but obviously he has not recruited a single player yet that is capable of leading and division 1 team without some MAJOR development. There are no players on this team, regardless of class, that are impact players. What I saw last night was a bunch of kids who looked like they have not been coached since high school and played like they were lost and scared.

I am a U K fan,but I still think we are going to have to hire a coach to get the program on the rite track.

Billy G just sits their and watches the game ,a real coach would have called a time out early ,and made corrections,No defense was played, VMI had wide open 3's all nite.

Never been a UK fan, always pulled for WVU. Always admired the diehard UK fans though, never seen nothing like it, every year I hear from nearly everybody that this is a championship team. VMI played their hearts out and were justly rewarded with the win.

you guys are makin me sick. I watched the game and did not think they looked that bad for the first game of the season. VMI is a fast tempo "shoot it before we turn it over" team. Meeks was lights out, Miller played well, Liggens played well, Ramon played too hard and tried to do it all himself and Patterson was almost invisible.

I couldn't agree more. I've never thought or understood why Patterson was thought of as the second coming. He is a good ball player, but overrated (only by UK fans). I also don't think BG is the right man for the job. I do like the way the fans have embraced him and gave him a chance after the way they were to the last coach.

The football team lost its third in a row. Was a decent game. I fell asleep and it was 21-20. The only coach hire worse than BG in recent years is Kragthorpe.

Any team with michael porter as the starting point guard is going to suck. He couldn't play for eastern. I think patterson got two passes in the post. They defended the three worse than any of tubby's teams and that is pretty bad. Sure miss derek jasper. Until we get some point guard play, we aren't going to be worth [email protected].

I would strongly disagree that UK fans are the only people who overrate Patterson.

You are the second UL fan that has told me this week that BG is not the right man for UK. I know for a fact that UL fans are not any more knowledgeable, so explain why you think he's the wrong man for the job.

UK fans were not anything towards the last coach. Tubby had more than enough opportunity to prove himself and keep the program at the levels the program was used to. He failed at his job and he knew it, that's why he's coaching a second rate team...

Let's give Kragthorpe another 8 years at UL and see how well he's liked. He's getting just as much flak as Tubby EVER did.
