Coyote Hunting at Nighttime is just amazing fun. YOU have the Advantage on a dark or semi dark night....just don't skylight yourself.

Just prepare to spend some money, but it is getting much cheaper.
I suggest Thermal imaging if you can swing it.

I was watching this one last night coming closer to me and danged if it didn't go through one of my Snares. I shot it about 130 yards quickly so it wouldn't mess my Snare and Snare Location up.
@riverboss is the expert on here, but this is BIG in Ohio and down South.

I don't have any night vision equipment but posts like that makes me want to run out and buy some. I can't afford thermal but maybe get a light.

    raised n Bullitt Co.
Buddy came over Sunday evening, he's ex-marine force recon, 3 tours in fallujah. Brought a helmet with him with flip down NV goggles. That was too cool.

What night vision setup would you recommend? Been reading a lot lately about night hunting as I think I have a perfect 1000 acres to hunt them at night. I’ve read several using a thermal monocular to locate then utilizing night vision on the weapon.

The NV scope I have is 7 years old but nothing has gone wrong with it. (So I guess it was OK) Armasight Gen 2 +, 6 X with IR sensitivity. And I added a Second IR Illuminator which lights up the whole country.
I used to have it mounted on a SAVAGE Predator .204 but sold the rifle and now have it on an AR 15.
I think an ideal rifle would be a 6.5 Grendel, but whatever.
I can see clearly at 250 yards if there is no fog or moisture in the air. Eyes at 450 with all IR turned up high.

I have not seen @riverboss scope but I think it would be a good choice.
I would caution you not to buy Bottom of the Line anything as you will not be satisfied and have wasted your money.
Only thing I did Wrong was Wait Too Long to buy a scope.

Well, if you are going for something bigger than Coyotes, an AR 10 in .308 would be good. Jest sayin...

Folks, I am not "Tootin my Horn" bragging or showing Equipment (of which mine is somewhat outdated)
I just encourage you to get out there and Kill the most challenging critter we have.
I don't keep track like some people do but I am probably nearing 100 Coyotes with this scope. You can hammer them at night with a decent setup.

I never was a counter either. I don't count anything, never did. On the other hand, I have a buddy that could tell me exactly how many tater chips was in the bag he had for lunch last Thursday.
