I actually 100% agree with the OP. The thing is though it's not just a Republican thing as the Dems did the exact same thing with Fetterman. He may not be the compulsive liar that Santos is, but that's probably only because he doesn't have the cognitive ability to do so.

Fetterman beat a compulsive Liar-Dr. Oz because the people in Pennsylvania do not like liars. Dr Oz was a showman/entertainer which is becoming the new Republican trend.

The Dems have their issues for sure with the ultra progressives. This would be equivalent of a Ted Nugent running and winning as a liberal due to no one doing their research.
