I suspect the maters will be gone after tonight. I'm thinking several BLT's are in order over the next few days.

  2. Last of the Mohicans right here I picked green the night before the freeze, brandywine. I picked several and like usual those late ones reminded me more of greenhouse tomatoes in taste and texture. Lack of intense blue light I suspect.

Yep! The ones I picked before the freeze were just wet, no flavor at all.

Made my second batch of kraut today. The batch I made in August turned out great, and has been canned and on the shelf for several weeks. Depending on how fast we go through this second round, I may not can it, just use it from the fermentation containers. Personally, I think frost kissed cabbage, and a slow, cool ferment makes for a superior sauerkraut!

Ive got a lot of picking to do this weekend if I want to hang on to anything. I reckon next week will be the end of 2020 for me. Here’s a few harvests from November.

Yesterday I got most of my carrots out of the ground and stored for the winter. It was my first time growing the variety Bolero, but it won't be the last!

We put a lot of pepper in the freezer this summer. Lately school boxes and meals have produced a lot of bell pepper so we canned a few jars. 85E666B0-6696-46AE-AE1C-F1E9CBAB85C3.jpeg
