Be a dandy squack skinner , and I bet it has skinned a few .
The old knife has done a right smart of this, too.
I love a good seeded watermelon. And thaten looks delicious. I always take the heart out first..the best part by far.
That's so e fine looking plants and a lot of good looking food yall have posted pics of. Our garden was nothing to brag about this year and has all about died out now. The mater plants are nearly gone with green fruit hanging everywhere. We did great with the cucumbers and enjoyed them while they were here
It was delicious! A friend told me just the other day that he cringed when he used to stop by and see all of the watermelons just laying around the patch with just the heart eatin' out. He then kinda grinned, and told me he started doing the same thing when he started growing them.
BTW the dogs enjoyed the rest of the one in the picture.
That’s the kind of melon that’s good, most people can’t wait for em to get ripe ,or just don’t know
Thank you, Sir, you know watermelons too!
The patch was ripe enough last week, but it is perfect right now and making memories with the grandkids! My friend who got the load of melons last week is coming for the rest Sunday.
I remember you mentioning church folks stealing your produce. I was shocked when you said it at the time, but im starting to understand. If i were your neighbor the odds of you catching me (spot light style) in the middle of the night (WM juice drippin off my chin) in your watermelon patch this week would be pretty damned high.
Slobbers are running down my chin
I wish I could get a dozen to you, mister!
I wasn't kidding at all. I've caught them several times.
It would begin by me telling someone who was desperate for a mess of some vegetable, or aunt, mil, neighbor, cousin etc really sick on their deathbed craving some vegetable.. to go on down and pick you a bucket full, or get a couple dozen or such. When I happen upon them filling the trunk AND backseat of the car, or the bed of the truck hurriedly, the very first words out of their mouths EVERY single time would be: " why, there's no way you can use all of this". It's happened a lot over the years.
That reminds me of a guy who ask me if he could get some firewood for a small campfire. Siad he an was going to meet some friends an they wanted to set around a campfire an talk. I said sure. Well my wife co me home early he an another guy are just finishing up loading the back of his pickup.
Drove off an never said a word. Took a pickup load.
I guess he needed it more than me
Would that be like giving away a pile of firewood ,so they would clean up the trashy stuff that was rotting, only to take the good and leave you the rotting stuff, still to clean up.Probably couldn’t guess how I know.
No this was all good stuff. Split an stacked
